However, its productivity and density still fall short of the main international railroad systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expectation is that growth will be fostered by more private sector investment, to increase the railroad network,<a href=\"https:\/\/massa.ind.br\/en\/primeira-ferrovia-do-brasil\/\"> integrate the different modes of land transport,<\/a>insert non-dependent cargo (general cargo and liquid bulk), regulate the technology and materials that make up the trains and rails, among other benefits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the initiative of the Federal Government and the Partnership and Investment Project (PPI), two important railroads are in a growth phase through concessions. A primeira \u00e9 a Ferrovia de Integra\u00e7\u00e3o Leste-Oeste (Fiol), que concedeu o direito de opera\u00e7\u00e3o da superestrutura \u00e0 Bahia Minera\u00e7\u00e3o em um longo trecho, em abril deste ano. Espera-se que at\u00e9 2023, outros dois trechos sejam leiloados para empresas do setor de transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio de cargas. Juntamente ao crescimento da Fiol, a Ferrogr\u00e3o se expandir\u00e1 em um projeto ainda maior, com expectativa de ligar commodities agr\u00edcolas do norte do Mato Grosso aos portos do Par\u00e1, com previs\u00e3o de R$ 20 bilh\u00f5es investidos.&nbsp; Transporte ferrovi\u00e1rio de cargas em 2021 De acordo com o levantamento da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Nacional dos Transportes Ferrovi\u00e1rios (ANTF), em mar\u00e7o de 2021, as ferrovias nacionais elevaram em 15% o volume transportado, se comparado com o mesmo m\u00eas do ano anterior.&nbsp; Este indicativo de crescimento \u00e9 acompanhado do aumento de desempenho, medido por tonelada por quil\u00f4metro \u00fatil (TKU), que tamb\u00e9m saltou para 30,1% se compararmos mar\u00e7o deste ano com o mesmo m\u00eas em 2020.
