However, every production sector in the country needs good means of transportation to transport the inputs produced. In this sense, it is important to discuss the transport of iron ore, which suffers from certain logistical difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, iron ore is the most important ore for national mining. The economy around this type of production is mainly developed through exports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">For you to have an idea of \u200b\u200bhow important mining production is for Brazil, just look at the number of sales achieved by the sector in 2020, according to the government itself: R$ 209 billion. This number represents around 2.5% of the entire GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still, it is important to highlight the growth that the sector has had in recent years, especially in foreign trade policy. From 2019 to 2020, for example, the increase in the positive balance was more than 30%, going from US$25 billion to US$32 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this account, iron ore was one of the standouts, growing by 16% from one year to the next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But for the ores to reach the ports and, consequently, the country's economic partners, they need to go through a long path, carried out by different types of iron ore transport modes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the transport of iron ore is done in different modes, especially road and rail, which are the main means of transporting land goods in the country and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, the country still faces serious difficulties in making the transport of iron ore as efficient as possible, which would naturally cause production to increase and these figures, presented previously, to be even higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, we selected the 5 main difficulties that the iron ore transport sector faces in Brazil, making it difficult to grow and leverage the sector's production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Few Railroads<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" src=\"https:\/\/massa.ind.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/railway-FLVZSF6.png\" alt=\"Few competitive mining companies in the country believe that the railroad sector is the most suitable for carrying out the transport of iron ore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to highlight that, for this iron ore transport process to be efficient on the railroads, they need to be installed close to the mining companies, facilitating loading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there are few railroads in the country that have these requirements, and that carry out this mining cargo transportation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The state of Minas Gerais, for example, which is the region that concentrates the largest number of ores extraction, including iron, has only two railroad lines running through its territory that carry out this shipment, the MRS Log\u00edstica and the Railroad Vit\u00f3ria - Minas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In addition to these two railroads, only the Caraj\u00e1s Railroad, which operates in the North and Northeast regions of the country, has its attributions aimed at transporting iron ore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disparity between sectors<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"248\" reasons that justify the lack of railroads for the transport of iron ore to be improved is the disparity in investments between the main modes of transport in the country: rail and road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">While the railroad sector, which currently has about 29,000 km in length, represents, according to the National Logistics Plan (2015-2035), about 15% of cargo handling in the country, the road sector has more than 65 % of total goods transported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is justified by the extensive investments that were made in the road sector in recent decades, which grew considerably from the 1960s onwards, when the railroads still competed on equal terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though trucks are still part of certain processes for loading ore onto trains, this disparity makes it difficult to improve the transport of iron ore in the country, because, for this product, the best way is the railroad, since, as they are very heavy, would require many trucks to carry all the loads to the scheduled destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading translation-block\">Logistical Challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" transport mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order for all stages to be fulfilled in the best possible way, including values, deadlines, products, among other factors, it is essential that the logistics of the companies involved be the best possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In this sense, Brazil is a country that has several logistical challenges, which need to be improved so that transactions become more efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the transport of iron ore, the production chain of mining companies involves several processes, such as extraction, storage and the path that these products take to reach their destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this logistics to be improved, it is essential that the sectors involved, as well as public instances, invest in innovative solutions, using more and more technological resources, logistical systems and software that make these steps more effective and practical.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, Brazil is far behind in this regard, especially considering more developed countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lack of skilled labor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Both in the stages of logistical organization, that is, the part of determining where the iron ores will be transported, how these processes will be carried out, in the loading of the ores, among other phases of the process, Brazilian mining lacks qualified labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the great difficulties in transporting iron ore in Brazil: without qualified labor, that is, professionals who are specialized in logistical processes, transport is hampered and, consequently, production also suffers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Demand for more sustainability in transport<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of sustainability is increasingly in force, and it is essential that it really is. The constant degradation of the environment has generated countless problems for all countries, population, fauna, flora, among other important points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this sense, one of the biggest demands that currently exist is that industries, mining and agribusiness, have more sustainable responsibilities in relation to transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The productive sector, like those mentioned, are the sectors that should work with this concept on the tip of their tongue from now on, considering that only the production of these segments already causes several damages to the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this is a great difficulty in relation to the transport of iron ores, as producers still do not have very viable solutions that are less polluting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transport vehicles, especially trucks, are big polluters as they emit high amounts of CO2 into the air. Ainda, \u00e9 importante destacar o crescimento que o setor vem tendo nos \u00faltimos anos, especialmente na pol\u00edtica de com\u00e9rcio exteriores. De 2019 para 2020, por exemplo, o aumento do saldo positivo foi mais de 30%, indo de US$25 bilh\u00f5es para US$32 bilh\u00f5es. Nessa conta, o min\u00e9rio de ferro foi um dos que mais se destacou, crescendo em 16% de um ano para o outro. Mas, para que os min\u00e9rios cheguem at\u00e9 os portos e, consequentemente, aos parceiros econ\u00f4micos do pa\u00eds, eles precisam passar por um longo trajeto, executado por diferentes tipos de modais de transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro. Atualmente, o transporte do min\u00e9rio de ferro \u00e9 feito em diferentes modais, especialmente o rodovi\u00e1rio e ferrovi\u00e1rio, que s\u00e3o os principais meios de transporte de mercadorias terrestres do pa\u00eds e do mundo. Nesse quesito, o pa\u00eds ainda enfrenta s\u00e9rias dificuldades para transformar o transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro no mais eficaz poss\u00edvel, o que naturalmente faria com que a produ\u00e7\u00e3o aumentasse e esses n\u00fameros, apresentados anteriormente, fossem ainda maiores. Por isso, selecionamos as 5 principais dificuldades que o setor de transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro enfrenta no Brasil, dificultando o crescimento e alavancamento da produ\u00e7\u00e3o do setor. Poucas ferrovias A grande maioria das mineradoras competitivas do pa\u00eds, acreditam que o setor ferrovi\u00e1rio \u00e9 o mais adequado para a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o do transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro. \u00c9 importante destacar que, para que esse processo de transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro seja eficiente pelas ferrovias, elas precisam estar instaladas pr\u00f3ximas \u00e0s mineradoras, facilitando o carregamento. Entretanto, existem poucas estradas de ferro no pa\u00eds que possuem esses requisitos, e que realizam esse transporte de cargas da minera\u00e7\u00e3o.&nbsp; O estado de Minas Gerais, por exemplo, que \u00e9 a regi\u00e3o que concentra o maior n\u00famero de extra\u00e7\u00e3o de min\u00e9rios, incluindo os de ferro, possui apenas duas linhas ferrovi\u00e1rias percorrendo o seu territ\u00f3rio que fazem esse carregamento, a MRS Log\u00edstica e a Estrada de Ferro Vit\u00f3ria a Minas. Al\u00e9m dessas duas ferrovias, apenas a Estrada de Ferro do Caraj\u00e1s, que atua na regi\u00e3o Norte e Nordeste do pa\u00eds, tem suas atribui\u00e7\u00f5es voltadas para o transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro. Disparidade entre os setores Um dos motivos que justificam a falta de ferrovias para que o transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro seja aprimorado, \u00e9 a disparidade de investimentos entre os principais modais de transporte do pa\u00eds: ferrovi\u00e1rio e rodovi\u00e1rio. Enquanto o setor ferrovi\u00e1rio, que atualmente possui cerca de 29 mil km de extens\u00e3o, representando, de acordo com o Plano Nacional de Log\u00edstica (2015-2035), cerca de 15% da movimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de cargas no pa\u00eds, o setor rodovi\u00e1rio possui mais de 65% do total de mercadorias transportadas. Isso se justifica pelos amplos investimentos que foram feitos no setor rodovi\u00e1rio nas \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, que cresceram consideravelmente a partir dos anos 60, quando as ferrovias ainda disputavam de igual para igual. Mesmo que os caminh\u00f5es ainda fa\u00e7am parte de certos processos de carregamento de min\u00e9rios nos trens, essa disparidade dificulta o aprimoramento do transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro no pa\u00eds, pois, para esse produto, o melhor meio \u00e9 a ferrovia, visto que, por serem muito pesados, exigiria muitos caminh\u00f5es para levar todas as cargas at\u00e9 os destinos programados. Desafio log\u00edstico para o transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro O processo do transporte de min\u00e9rio de ferro no pa\u00eds pode acontecer de diferentes maneiras, passando, principalmente, por esses modais de transporte mencionados anteriormente. Para que todas as etapas sejam cumpridas da melhor maneira poss\u00edvel, incluindo valores, prazos, produtos, entre outros fatores, \u00e9 fundamental que a log\u00edstica das empresas envolvidas seja a melhor poss\u00edvel. Nesse sentido, o Brasil \u00e9 um pa\u00eds que possui diversos desafios log\u00edsticos, que precisam ser melhorados para que as transa\u00e7\u00f5es se tornem mais eficientes. Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao transporte de min\u00e9rios de ferro, a cadeia de produ\u00e7\u00e3o das mineradoras envolve diversos processos, como a extra\u00e7\u00e3o, armazenagem e propriamente o trajeto que esses produtos levam at\u00e9 chegar aos seus destinos. Para que essa log\u00edstica seja aprimorada, \u00e9 fundamental que os setores envolvidos, bem como as inst\u00e2ncias p\u00fablicas, invistam em solu\u00e7\u00f5es inovadoras, utilizando cada vez mais recursos tecnol\u00f3gicos, sistemas log\u00edsticos e softwares que tornem essas etapas mais eficazes e pr\u00e1ticas.&nbsp; Infelizmente, o Brasil segue muito atr\u00e1s nesse quesito, principalmente levando em considera\u00e7\u00e3o pa\u00edses mais desenvolvidos. Falta de m\u00e3o de obra qualificada Tanto nas etapas de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o log\u00edstica, ou seja, a parte de determina\u00e7\u00e3o para onde os min\u00e9rios de ferro ser\u00e3o transportados, como ser\u00e3o feitos esses processos, no carregamento dos min\u00e9rios, entre outras fases do processo, a minera\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira carece de m\u00e3o de obra qualificada. Essa \u00e9 uma das grandes dificuldades do transporte de min\u00e9rios de ferro no Brasil: sem m\u00e3o de obra qualificada, ou seja, profissionais que sejam especializados em processos log\u00edsticos, o transporte \u00e9 prejudicado e, consequentemente, a produ\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m sofre para crescer. Exig\u00eancia de mais sustentabilidade no transporte O tema da sustentabilidade est\u00e1 cada vez mais em vigor, e \u00e9 fundamental que realmente esteja. A constante degrada\u00e7\u00e3o do meio ambiente vem gerando in\u00fameros problemas para todos os pa\u00edses, popula\u00e7\u00e3o, fauna, flora, entre outros pontos importantes. Nesse sentido, uma das maiores exig\u00eancias que existem atualmente, \u00e9 que as ind\u00fastrias, minera\u00e7\u00e3o e agroneg\u00f3cio, possuem mais responsabilidades sustent\u00e1vel em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao transporte.
