Throughout this period until today, the sector has undergone many transformations, advances and setbacks. It was once the investment priority transport segment and it has also gone through years of neglect. Anyway, a lot of things happened to the railroad sector until it became what it is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout this process, many railroads have been implemented and others abandoned. Currently, Brazil has about 15 railroad lines, managed by different private logistics companies. Between the lines, there is the Caraj\u00e1s railroad or the Caraj\u00e1s railroad (EFC), which, when compared to the others, is not so large in extension, but it is extremely important.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Caraj\u00e1s railroad was built after a long period of projections in the Caraj\u00e1s region, in the state of Par\u00e1. As this was an important region for mining, the government saw the need to create a transport route for the extracted ores and that is where the construction of the EFC came from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the construction project for the Caraj\u00e1s railroad was completed and delivered in 1974, the railroad's operations began just nine years later, in 1985. Since then, it has been an important form of product outflow, mainly for the northern and southern regions. North East of the country. All this size of the trains facilitates transport logistics, since it allows more loads to be transported in a single route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, according to data provided by the company, it is estimated that 120 million tons of cargo are transported per year, with the ores being the main ones. A constru\u00e7\u00e3o da ferrovia se deu principalmente pela cria\u00e7\u00e3o do Projeto Caraj\u00e1s, que era uma proposta do governo de explora\u00e7\u00e3o de grandes espa\u00e7os abastecidos por min\u00e9rios importantes nessa regi\u00e3o, englobando diversas cidades de estados do Norte, como Par\u00e1 e Tocantins, e alcan\u00e7ando a regi\u00e3o sudeste do Maranh\u00e3o, no Nordeste. Desde ent\u00e3o, ela \u00e9 uma importante forma de escoamento de produtos, principalmente para as regi\u00f5es norte e nordeste do pa\u00eds. Justamente por isso ela \u00e9 considerada uma das ferrovias mais modernas, tanto em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao transporte de cargas como de passageiros.
